Last-mile delivery means bringing parcels to offices, shops and homes every day. It is practical work: at the end of each shift, you can see what you have achieved.
This article is for anyone thinking about driving with LastMile2You who wants to understand how the job works before applying.
Direct employment, never self-employed
You work for us as a direct employee. We do not take on self-employed drivers. You never need to register as self-employed, send invoices or buy a vehicle: the van belongs to the company.
For drivers, that means something simple. You look after the deliveries, and the company looks after the rest.
Training to get started
Before you start delivering, you receive initial training. You learn how we work, how to use the delivery app and what we expect at loading and at the door.
You do not need to know everything when you join the team. You need to be willing to learn a method and stick to it.
Clear shifts, morning or evening
Shifts last four hours, in the morning or the evening, five days a week. Weekends are worked on a rotation.
A clear timetable helps you plan the rest of your day.
The van and the app
You drive a company van, so you need a category B driving licence. During your shift you use the delivery app you learn in the initial training.
A typical shift, in short:
- at loading, you scan each parcel’s QR code and the order is created automatically
- you follow the planned route in the app
- at the door, you hand over the parcel and take the photo that proves delivery
The app guides you step by step. Care for the parcel and courtesy at the door are down to you.
Where you work
Deliveries take place in east Rome, in the Milan area (Bovisa and Peschiera Borromeo) and in Bologna. You get to know your area, learn the routes and become a familiar face for the customers you serve every day.
What matters in this job
Accuracy at loading, sticking to the route, attention at the door. These are the things that make the difference to the person receiving a parcel. Whoever drives for LastMile2You represents the company and its clients on every delivery.
